Caroline was born and raised in Vancouver BC right near Main St in the heart of the city. After high school she pursued a degree in Creative Writing and English from the University of Victoria. During the last semester of her undergrad is when she was introduced to pottery by taking it as an elective. Pottery found Caroline in a time in her life where she felt drained from years of school and working with clay rekindled her creative drive and she became enthralled with it. Her inspiration comes from the stories she wrote as a child that took place in fantastical realms. Her work conveys an other worldly surrealism through a psychedelic glaze pallet. Smooth colourful glazes contrast a clay body course with grog that provides a tactile experience. Her pieces show an inclination towards function that she hopes will situate them within the lives of their owners.
