Two upcoming FREE online boot camps offered by Matt Potter, Instructor in the Web Development program at Selkirk College offer a sneak peak into the hot new program at School of the Arts. It provides in-depth training for a career in one of the most in-demand tech sector jobs in Canada.

Online Multiplayer Game

This boot camp explores the usage of multiple web development tools and how they work together to create interactive browser experiences.

Requirements: Must have a strong interest in learning about web development and experience using computer communication tools. This course will be delivered virtually, students should be comfortable using online video conferencing tools and technologies.

Mobile App

Build a cross platform mobile application using state of the art web development tools and technologies. Install your app on your phone and learn about how to deploy via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Requirements: Must have a strong interest in learning about web development and experience using computer communication tools. This course will be delivered virtually, students should be comfortable using online video conferencing tools and technologies.

  • How to use the browser, and inspect and examine website code.
  • How online web development servers work and how to connect to them.
  • How to use Javascript & HTML to build mobile app.
  • About programming basics and how code is used to build software.
